Speed Week - Charlotte, NC

May 20th – June 1st 2010

This trip will be one, that no one will forget anytime soon. I am putting together the final itinerary for this tour.  With so many things to do in Charlotte during Speed Week I will continue to tweak the itinerary as it gets closer.  I am still waiting on times for several of the activities we will be doing during the week.  I will be allowing time for you to explore and have some free time to relax as well.  Please give us a call and let us know if you are interested and if you have any preferences of what you would like to see. Below is a description of the main activities we will be enjoying while on our 10 day tour.  A more detailed itinerary will be placed on our web site as we add new places to visit.  We will mail the tentative itinerary one month prior to departure and will have the final with us when we leave.

Thursday May 20th

Travel day

Today we will travel to Lexington KY.  We will be spending the evening at the Ramada Inn.  Along the way we will have rest breaks and a lunch stop.

 

Friday May 21st

CAMPING WORLD TRUCK 

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway for a 200-mile, fender-banging, bumper-to-bumper battle for the glory. Held in conjunction with NASCAR Sprint All Star Race Qualifying, this race provides fans with the opportunity to watch NASCAR Sprint Cup Series crews and drivers battle for the top starting spot in the sport's annual All-Star event as well as the great racing action provided by the Camping World Truck Series.

 

Saturday May 22nd

ALL STAR RACE                     
The NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 22, 2010. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' annual all-star event features a special format with a 10-lap Saturday-night shootout reminiscent of the sports' roots at short-tracks around the country. Drivers go head-to-head on home turf to take home $1 million. Only the series' top drivers are eligible for the race, which is preceded by an action-packed last-chance qualifying race.
 

Monday May 24th

RACE SHOP TOUR           
Tour Starts at Hendricks motor sports. The tour will then depart for Roush Fenway Racing. Once there, fans may tour the museum and visit the 80-seat theater to view some of Roush Fenway Racing's greatest moments. Before leaving, fans can browse the gift shop at both locations and receive a discount on their purchase. Food vendors will also be available on-site for those interested in purchasing lunch. Last stop of the day would be Sam Bass Art Studio.
 

Tuesday May 25th

 NASCAR HALL OF FAME

PIT CREW CHALLENGE

The NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge presented by Craftsman is a fan-friendly, pit crew competition featuring the top-24 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pit crews and is the only indoor event sanctioned by NASCAR.

 

Thursday May 27th

WINDSTREAM POLE NIGHT

Windstream Pole Night features NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers challenging the 1.5-mile super speedway in single-car runs to determine the 43-car lineup for the Coca-Cola 600.

Friday May 28th

WORLD OF OUT LAWS          

The stars of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series return to The Dirt Track @ Charlotte for the Sprint Car Showdown on May 28, 2010. The winged, 800-horsepower open-wheel, sprint cars take to the four-tenths-mile clay oval to compete for the prize money and prestige of winning at The Dirt Track!
World of Outlaws stars expected to enter include Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, Jason Meyers, Joey Saldana and more!

 

Saturday May 29th

NATIONWIDE SERIES

NASCAR Nationwide Series regulars will battle against various NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers in this 300-mile showdown. The TECH-NET Auto Service 300 powered by CARQUEST is an opportunity for fans to see great racing action.. Tickets for this event also include access to the final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice session prior to Sunday's Coca-Cola 600.

 

Sunday May 30th

SPRINT CUP SERIES           

NASCAR's only 600-mile race.
This Memorial Day weekend, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers and teams will visit Charlotte Motor Speedway for one of the nation's most prestigious motor sports events, the Coca-Cola 600. The only 600-mile event on the NASCAR schedule, this race tests the endurance of both drivers and equipment. The Coca-Cola 600 is a memorable experience each year for fans to enjoy great side-by-side action and salute America's armed forces.
